Still on a quest...

For handmade treasures to consign! I found a few new vendors at the Soroptomist Bazaar last Saturday. One vendor makes these adorable cloth diaper/blanket packs that I love! One possibly coming in a couple of weeks makes wooden vehicles that look super cute! We are interested in carrying a variety of things and they don't all necessarily have to be baby related, they just have to be a good fit! I'm drawn to up-cycled and re-purposed, fun and creative items! Spread the word to your creative friends too!

Meet Our Newest Vendor- Pamela Petry!

I grew up in Lower Michigan with the opportunity to spend my summers on my grandparents farms in Kansas. I have always loved being outdoors with all kind of nature, from the green mossy trees of the Greater Northwest to the flowing wheat fields of the Midwest. This is where my true love lies. I graduated with a Graphic Design Degree from Ferris State University, a long time ago. But have always kept some form of art close in hand. When I made the move to Washington I took up Pottery Class and loved it ever since.

Structure has never been my strong suit. I have always loved the free flowe of design along with a twist of whimsicality. I'm not saying that I will never create anything structured. But just at this moment in time I love being a bit more free with my pieces. Each one is unique, no matter if I am submerging my fingers in clay, Paint, or Fabric. I have a passion for nature and I feel each piece reflects that.

Pamela's pottery and jewelry are handcrafted out of earthenware clay. They are fired 2 times each to give them the strength and the character they have and every image stamp that she uses she has created herself. Come take a look at the beautiful pieces she has for sale at Baby, Naturally! Keepsake rattles, wall hangings and necklaces for adults and children!

Local Crafters & Artisans Wanted!

Are you a crafty person? An excellent seamstress? A creative Stay-at-home mom who wants to earn some extra money using your God-given talents? Baby, Naturally is searching for local (and by local I just mean the Northwest) crafters who would be interested in selling their hand-made, unique items in our store on a consignment basis. I'm looking for a wide variety of creativity- items should be geared toward children/youth, gifty-type items, things of interest to moms or families, etc. Must fit the flavor and personality of Baby, Naturally! and must be high-quality, well-made and safe items. I am offering 2 options- you can sell items that I display and disperse throughout the store with general merchandise. Baby, Naturally! collects all sales tax, absorbs bad check fees and assumes responsibility for merchandise while it is in my possesion, and collects a 30% commission on each item sold. You will receive a check twice a month for 70% of the retail price on each item sold. Option 2 is to 'rent' a designated area/display space for a flat monthly fee, where you will arrange your items and keep it well stocked, and Baby, Naturally! will collect a 15% comission on each item sold. Twice a month you will receive a check for 85% of the retail price on each item sold.

Items will be selected by jury, meaning myself and store associates will decide if each particular item will be a good fit for the store. We try to keep stocked with reasonably priced items and would like to keep it that way. Space is somewhat limited. Contact me by email (babynaturallyorders@yahoo.com) with any inquiries and pictures of items you wish to submit for consideration. Please do not bring items into the store until you have emailed me pictures and descriptions first.

Possible items we are looking for are vintage/shabby chic decor for kid's rooms, boutique-style clothing, handmade child-safe plush, etc.

We currently have 4 vendors we are working with and would like to add several more. I've been wanting to go this direction for awhile now! Please contact me by email with any questions!

Girly-girls!

We are trying to have a good stock of hair pretties for all those girlie-girls out there! We have the stretchy headbands that seem to be hard to find, and lots of flowers to clip onto them. We have knitted hats too, from Pixie Bowtique. We have amazing hair bows from Lanie Bug Bowtique (Amazing quality and creativity!) and just brought in some lovely headbands from Little Pea Boutique as well!

Cloth Diapering

As you probably know, cloth diapers have made a huge comeback in the last few years. The most affordable option for cloth diapering is prefolds- rectangular shaped diapers that have more layers in the middle, that you fold and cover with a diaper cover. They are the cheapest and very easy once you get the hang of it. We now carry Bumkins unbleached Prefolds in Preemie, Infant and Toddler sizes! We now have Snappis too! (A nice alternative to diaper pins!)

Potty Training?

Children tend to potty train faster when they can feel the wetness. It's hard to find training pants with the thick middle layers these days- I even had lots of trouble finding them 4 years ago when I needed them for one of my kids. I'm excited about the Bambino Mio Potty Training pants! They come in 3 sizes and they have a waterproof inner pad to help minimise accidents. We also have the Mio Potty- a one-piece design potty chair- it's simple design and handle on the back make if easily portable!
